The final review of the EU H2020 project REFILLS (“Robotics Enabling Fully‐Integrated Logistics Lines for Supermarkets”) was supposed to take place on February 24, 2021. The final review was moved, however, to April/May 2021. The project was supposed to end in June 2020 but was extended for another 6 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The project REFILLS improves logistics in supermarkets with mobile robotic systems in close and smart collaboration with humans, addressing the main in-store logistics processes for retail shops. Robots will allow a smarter shelf refilling, therefore REFILLS proposed three scenarios: store monitoring, collaborative shelf refilling, and autonomous shelf refilling.
You can watch the video of the 3rd scenario on YouTube and find more information on the REFILLS website.
The REFILLS project and the CRC EASE have closely collaborated on knowledge representation, plan-based control, and perception technology.
We wish everyone a successful final review! Let’s look forward to future collaborations and hopefully there will be a follow-up project.
