Learn with EASE - EASE Fall School 2018
The EASE Fall School 2018 provides the possibility to learn everyday activity robotics, while it gives doctoral students the opportunity to participate in this new and exciting topic - Everyday Activity Science and Engineering.
Lectures, hands-on courses and the exchange of thoughts and ideas will give the participants the excellent opportunity to learn together state of the art research results.
The courses and the hands-on labs will be taught by international professors and experts from the collaborative research center EASE. All workshops are placed at the University Bremen.
Our EASE Fall School 2018 starts on September 17 and ends on September 21.
Each day will start with a lecture given by experienced Professors, which will be followed by hands-on projects.
Our program will also provide a diverse and extensive cultural experience. Join us to visit "The Bremer Roland" (Statue of Roland) and the "Town Musicians of Bremen", and be part of Bremen's city life.
Our Fall School will take place in the beautiful historical City of Bremen, in the Northwest of Germany. With a population of around 500,000, the city on the Weser River is a hub for economy, science, and culture.
All workshops and courses will be taught at the TAB Building/Entrance E, Am Fallturm 1, 28359 Bremen. It is located within short walking distance of the main campus of Bremen University.
Join us on a late-night, guided 1-hour 30-minute walking tour on Thursday, September 20th to explore the historical places and backstreets of Bremen ("Night Watchman")
The EASE Fall School 2018 connects experts' lectures and hands-on courses with real robots. You will access our robots and work on an everyday activity project, supported by our lecturers and EASE experts.
We will provide you with a valuable learning and social environment to ensure you gain high level academic skills and get the opportunity to make friends from different cultures and backgrounds, both of which will benefit you throughout your time at university and beyond.
The EASE Fall School recommends the 7things Hotel, Bremen, which is located within easy walking distance of Bremen University. We are pleased to provide you with a special booking offer until August 15th, 2018.
When booking, please indicate the term "Fall School" in your booking request. A contingent of rooms is kept free from Sunday, September 16th until Friday, September 21st for those who would like to arrive on the day before. Please note that payment is to be made on your own expenses as the fee does not include accommodation.

Application & Fee
The application for the EASE Fall School 2018 is a short CV and a one-page letter of motivation. The Submission Deadline is, July 27th, 2018. The Fall School Committee will inform all applicants on August 8th.
The EASE Fall School 2018 fee package is 350 EUR. Included are the following services:
- all lectures and workshops given during the Fall School
- access to our laboratories on all days of our Fall School
No further application fees will be charged.
Travel & Visa
If traveling by plane, the nearest airport is City Airport Bremen. You can take Line 6 of the tram service BSAG, Bremer Straßenbahn AG, the local tram and bus service. The tram station is opposite the airport's entrance hall and goes directly from Bremen Airport (Bremen Flughafen) to Bremen University (Universität).
If traveling by train, you can also take Line 6 of the tram service as it stops at Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). Tickets to Bremen University can be purchased at automatic ticket machines that are operated by BSAG and located at the airport (exit) and on the trams.
If traveling by car, the venue of the EASE Fall School is located directly at the A27.
