Project TraceBot: First Kick-Off Meeting

We are happy to announce that the “TraceBot” project had its first Kick-Off Meeting on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. The IAI at Bremen University is one of the project participants.

The EU Horizon 2020 project TraceBot (“Traceable Robotic Handling of Sterile Medical Products”) aims at bringing verifiable actions to robot manipulation by reasoning over sensor-actor trails in a traceability framework based on digital-twin technology. These days, creating new healthcare products requires the testing of huge numbers of samples. Manual procedures still dominate as regulations require an understanding of the execution of each process step and systematic checking to verify task completion– which is called traceability.

TraceBot will extend current robot motion planners by the automatic execution of self-checking procedures. The goal of the project is to create robotic systems that are able to understand what they perceive and do.

TraceBot is funded by the European Union from 01.01.2021 until 31.12.2024 within the Horizon 2020 – Industrial Leadership program. This area supports industrial research and development in joint research projects between universities, industry, and research centers.

The Kick-Off Meeting was held virtually due to safety reasons.

We are excited to see what the project will accomplish!
